Classes
At Chīsana Kyokushin Dōjō NZ - Napier Karate Club welcomes everyone from 6 years old through to senior citizens. We provide a friendly, supportive space where students of all levels can learn and grow. Training is tailored to each student’s journey, focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of karate — from forms (kata) to sparring (kumite). Whether you’re just starting out or building on existing skills, our community will help you progress with confidence.
Grading
At Chīsana Kyokushin Dōjō NZ - Napier Karate Club gradings are a key part of training. They mark important milestones where students demonstrate progress in kata, kumite, fitness, and spirit. Guided by our instructors, students refine their skills while building discipline, perseverance, and respect. Self Defence

Private Training

With over 20 years of martial arts experience, our instructors provide focused support in kata and kumite — whether for personal growth or competition. Private sessions allow concentrated learning, helping you sharpen skills, gain confidence, and take your karate to the next level.
Meet our team
Our team at Chīsana Kyokushin Dōjō NZ – Napier Karate Club brings years of experience, passion, and dedication to karate. All our instructors are Japanese-certified Nidan Black Belts, have been police vetted, and hold current first aid certificates. They are also medal winners in Kumite and Kata at various karate competitions, and continue to train and compete actively.
